Mechanization was a factor in pace of change during the second industrial revolution because in the USA a guy named Frederick Winslow Taylor thought that steel making would be quicker if they used machines to do the work that was originally done by humans. Also, machines made work for people easier. For example, when the spinning wheel came around, cotton was spun a lot quicker than before. Also in Sri Lanka, at the white tea plantation they used to have to pick the leaves and then sort through to sort the different colored parts but then they got a machine that would sort them for you. It was quicker and more efficient. It was the perfect plan.
Also, during the industrial revolution, people were being payed very little for long, hard hours of work, units per man hour. Units per man hour is how much work one person does in an hour.

more efficient. Before it would take a long time but now it was quicker and could get more done in the same amount of time. Also, in the farms,

The group foundpay was not great, but it critical thatwas enough to support ones living. Some did not have enough money to afford an apartment or a house so they would live in city slum dwellings. Children were also hired in factories because they could get into small spaces and did not complain on how little money they get. An average factory worker would get paid 5 to 6 pennies a day. Not only did life in cities change but also life on farms were affected by the industrial revolution. Many factory tools advanced and so farm work became easier for people know thatwhich let them produce more crops.
Economic Migration Critical Imformation -
We thought that the Critical imformation in this piece of writing is spread out into a bunch of topics, People moved to cities all around the U.S because of various benefits, one of the benefits was the many new creations that were being made. Electricity was among one of those creations. They used electricity to heat and light homes. Another piece of critical information was that people wanted to move to America for all of the jobs that were available, because of the factories that were being open due to the industrial revolution, the factories needed workers, so that's how the number of jobs became available. Farmers often moved to urban cities also because even though they wouldn't recieve much pay, they knew they would never go without a pay check. Compared to the farming aspect, where if your crops don't grow you recieve no money at all. The last Critical piece of information, is the push factors of how the industrial revolution affected the agricultural revolution. Unfortunately the industrial revolution caused farmers to create fertilizers to produce more food, in a faster time, however sometimes these fertilizers harmed the crops rather than helping them, and sometimes it left farmers with no crops at all. Also because of all the farming machines that were created, women were lossing their jobs on the farm. This happened because the farmers had these machines they didn't need as many workers so basically the machines replaced the jobs that belonged to the women.

-Pull Factors of the Industrial Cities-
...
-Push factors of the Agricultural Revolution-
Some push factors of the Agricultural Revolution were though there was many new machinery, many farmers chose not to use the machines because they already had plenty of laborers. They didn't need the extra help of a machine and some of them couldn't even afford something big and expensive. They payed there laborers very little because they didn't have enough themselves. Another push factor was that the inventors were still experimenting with there inventions, so many of them weren't completely right. A lot of the new fertilizers people created were actually harmful to soil and only caused crops to fail, rather than grow. Also, as hopes of starting a farm and getting a lot of money, many immigrants from places like Sweden migrated to the U.S and then to the mid-west. This caused limited space of good soil (as in soil that was good for growing crops) and left many people feeling over-crowded. Some people from the cities also chose to migrate to the rural areas in hopes of getting more money out of there farm than there small job in a factory. This made the city less crowded but led to the country-side to be filled with little farms. One thing that happened in Britain because of there Agricultural Revolution was the women used to help there husbands on farms but when the machines came in, the men no longer needed the help of the women. This left the women with the job of finding some employment to earn more money. In other words, the Agricultural Revolution limited jobs for women and forced some into such things as prostitution. These limited jobs of women made men feel more and more like women were worthless and should only be stuck at home doing chores and taking care of the kids.

As factories grew during the Industrial Revolution, more people moved from their small family farms into the cities to find a better paid job in factories.
Some people would get pushed off their land in the country so they would have no choice but to search for jobs in in the city. Factory workers would work for usually more than 12 hours everyday for 6 days a week. Although work in factories were long and hard, the widespread of poverty and starvation decreased during this time of revolution because many spaces in factories were in need to be filled. Many children were also hired in factories but were payed very little. Children were an advantage because they could get into small places were adults couldn't and because they wouldn't complain or try to strike back on how little money they get.

Agricultural Revolution Definition (Dialla)
The Agricultural revolution began in between 1750 and the 1900s. The agricultural revolution changed the way farmers produced their food all around the world. The industrial revolution affected the agricultural one in a huge way. It was increasing the population by huge amounts, because there were more jobs available more people were able to start a family. Therefor this forced farmers to produce more and more food every year. As time went on the proccess of farming began to change all around the world. Farmers began to use machines to make their jobs easier. Machines that were creating include the seed drill and the threshing machine. {lettuce.jpg}

City Slum Dwelling (Nana & Dialla)
The industrial revolution produced hundreds and hundreds of jobs available for the people of America. Large amounts of factorys began to open and owners needed employees to work inside of them. Therefor, because there were so many more jobs available people were migrating from all around the world to America in hopes for a better life. This was a pull factor of why people were leaving to the land of opportunities. However the pay that you would earn working in a factory is not as large as you would hope, the average factory worker would be paid 5 or six pennies a day. This pay is very little, so most factory workers would not be able to afford to live in apartments or houses. They would have to live in a city slum dwelling.
