Social Change Critical Information - Social Change - During the industrial revolution, poverty and starvation decreased because of the many employment needed in the factories. The pay was not great, but it was enough to support ones living. Some did not have enough money to afford an apartment or a house so they would live in city slum dwellings. Children were also hired in factories because they could get into small spaces and did not complain on how little money they get. An average factory worker would get paid 5 to 6 pennies a day. Not only did life in cities change but also life on farms were affected by the industrial revolution. Many factory tools advanced and so farm work became easier for people which let them produce more crops.
Economic Migration Critical Imformation -
We thought that the Critical imformation in this piece of writing is spread out into a bunch of topics, People moved to cities all around the U.S because of various benefits, one of the benefits was the many new creations that were being made. Electricity was among one of those creations. They used electricity to heat and light homes. Another piece of critical information was that people wanted to move to America for all of the jobs that were available, because of the factories that were being open due to the industrial revolution, the factories needed workers, so that's how the number of jobs became available. Farmers often moved to urban cities also because even though they wouldn't recieve much pay, they knew they would never go without a pay check. Compared to the farming aspect, where if your crops don't grow you recieve no money at all. The last Critical piece of information, is the push factors of how the industrial revolution affected the agricultural revolution. Unfortunately the industrial revolution caused farmers to create fertilizers to produce more food, in a faster time, however sometimes these fertilizers harmed the crops rather than helping them, and sometimes it left farmers with no crops at all. Also because of all the farming machines that were created, women were lossing their jobs on the farm. This happened because the farmers had these machines they didn't need as many workers so basically the machines replaced the jobs that belonged to the women.
