As factories grew during the Industrial Revolution, more people moved from their small family farms into the cities to find a better paid job in factories.
Some people would get pushed off their land in the country so they would have no choice but to search for jobs in in the city. Factory workers would work for usually more than 12 hours everyday for 6 days a week. Although work in factories were long and hard, the widespread of poverty and starvation decreased during this time of revolution because many spaces in factories were in need to be filled. Many children were also hired in factories but were payed very little. Children were an advantage because they could get into small places were adults couldn't and because they wouldn't complain or try to strike back on how little money they get.

The Agricultural revolution began in between 1750 and the 1900s. The agricultural revolution changed the way farmers produced their food all around the world. The industrial revolution affected the agricultural one in a huge way. It was increasing the population by huge amounts, because there were more jobs available more people were able to start a family. Therefor this forced farmers to produce more and more food every year. As time went on the proccess of farming began to change all around the world. Farmers began to use machines to make their jobs easier. Machines that were creating include the seed drill and the threshing machine.

The industrial revolution produced hundreds and hundreds of jobs available for the people of America. Large amounts of factorys began to open and owners needed employees to work inside of them. Therefor, because there were so many more jobs available people were migrating from all around the world to America in hopes for a better life. This was a pull factor of why people were leaving to the land of opportunities. However the pay that you would earn working in a factory is not as large as you would hope, the average factory worker would be paid 5 or six pennies a day. This pay is very little, so most factory workers would not be able to afford to live in apartments or houses. They would have to live in a city slum dwelling.
